Domain Registration For Great Search Engine Ranking

Posted on/at 8:52 PM by Elijah Anderson

A solid keyword domain name is the key to establish a strong presence and making the resources of the Inteet more reachable. With a great name, it's always easy to reach new and existing clients. Therefore, a number of companies are ready to spend a large amount of money to get hold of and promote a good keyword rich domain name.

Choosing a keyword domain name can be vital to the success of a website. In order to take advantage of search engine traffic, people choose keyword domain. By selecting a domain that is equivalent to a keyword search, websites are able to rank higher for targeted keywords and thus benefit from added traffic and more potential clients. Whether to opt for a brandable domain or a keyword domain is a choice one must make in accordance with their business plan.

Follow these simple rules to maximize the benefit of a keyword domain, accomplish success in directory submissions, and enhance site keyword density:

Structuring

Order the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) in such a manner that more vital keywords are listed before those that are less important. For example, if he target keyword is "money" then money-online.com would be more effectual than online-money.com.

Length

1. A majority of studies confirms that a number of people use two words or more in a search; as a result phrases are very useful.

2. Always stick to two-three keywords, with hyphens in between.

3. A lengthy, complex URL is more likely to be rejected by directory editors' sites from which one would like to receive links.

Correct English and Must Make Sense

1. In order to execute directory submissions and link popularity campaigns, the URL should be grammatically correct.

2. When examined by an editor, "money-online-white.com" might sound like a less-reliable resource while "white-money-online.com" sounds more justifiable and is less likely to be questioned.

Put together "power words"

In order to create a distinctive domain name that is still available, one way is to add another less important word to the mix. A few examples include: now, top, just, goto, pro, guide, online and find etc.

Avoid using most popular keyword phrases

There is intense competition for keywords in the marketplace, so stay away from the most popular keyword phrases. It is impractical to think that a new website could rank number one on a popular phrase like "Shop Online". A number of well-known companies who have been on the Inteet for a few years will have the big advantage of link popularity and click popularity.

Try to register a .com domain

Always use ".com". In case it is a business website, avoid using domains ending with "ru" or "org". At once, one can consider registering a ".net" domain, but as most people are familiar with ".com", it is better to stick to convention.

In addition to the above, an understanding of the domain name system (DNS) is also vital while choosing a domain name. The DNS is set up to make regular words map to IP (Inteet Protocol) addresses. In order to connect all computers on the Inteet, an IP address is used by networks. A domain name can be up to sixty-three characters, comprising of letters, numbers, or the dash symbol. For example, in the world of computer networking, the web address fishing.com becomes the IP address 124.133.1.1. However, it's the domain name that people around the world use when looking for Web sites or sending an e-mail.

Finally, it is very important to choose a keyword phrase very carefully. This can be considered as one of the most critical decisions one will make regarding the success or failure of a website. One must identify the exact phrase that searchers will use to find a website. The more targeted the campaign is, the more increase in sales will be achieved.

Download Free Movies

Posted on/at 9:13 PM by Elijah Anderson

Freebies delight many of us and computer users are lucky to be able to download free movies from the Inteet. There are several hundred sites advertising downloads of free movies but some are in the business peddling illegal fare. The trend to download free movies has also irked movie studios that fear a Napster-like piracy of music and movies via the Inteet.

The free movies available online are usually those in the public domain because their copyright has not been renewed. The latest full-length movies are seldom free and they require a small fee sometimes charged as membership or shipping or mailing fee by some companies. If a recent movie is completely free, most often the transaction can get you into legal trouble.

The websites ibiblio.org and archive.org have free movie downloads. These sites have a collection of public domain movies. You can even get full-length movies from the 1930s and 40s such as the Three Stooges. It is legal to download these movies because the copyright has expired and they are now in the public domain.

The major movie studios are worried about this trend of free movie down loads. They see a future scenario of movie piracy similar to the music piracy boom of a few years ago. New technology makes it more difficult to put free movies on the Inteet. Microsoft is planning a new operating system that will have strong anti-movie piracy protection.

The software is being developed in consultation with movie industry. The studios are looking at controlling the movie downloading market. With broadband speeds, Downloading a movie may become as common as downloading a song. A new alteative is to rent movies online for a small fee.

The movie download business is still in its infancy and faces many hurdles. For one, most people prefer to watch a movie on a television screen and not on a computer. Also, the hard drive of a P.C. can store only a few movies.

Downloading a movie from the Inteet requires the following items. First, there must be a 56K modem or a broadband connection, 64 MB of RAM, Windows (95,98, ME, 2000, XP, Linux) and a movie download player like Quick Time. If all these components are present, you can play videos by download or stream. Movies should start playing within a minute or two once you select a link to the page that supports your modem speed.

It is not at all a tall order to expect the movie industry to be completely transformed by the free download business just like when the iPod hit the music scene. A way will surely emerge for the present technology to shed its defects and to bring out a high-quality product.

Fake Credit Card Numbers Mean Safer Online Shopping

Posted on/at 10:01 PM by Elijah Anderson

Isn't That Illegal?

Yes, using credit cards fraudulently is illegal. This article is absolutely not suggesting that you make up and use a credit card number. You should also never use credit cards belonging to other people.

Below is a summary of new services the credit card companies have created to make online credit card use more secure.

How Does It Work?

It is more appropriate to use the terms "temporary credit card numbers" or "single-use credit card numbers" rather than "fake credit card numbers."

Some credit card issuers allow customers to generate and use a credit card number that is different from the number on their plastic credit card.

Current Online Security Measures

Security-conscious online buyers should only submit their credit card numbers to web sites that are secured by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. You can tell if a web page is secure by looking for the following signs:

1. The page address in the browser address bar begins with https. The extra "s" means secure. Normal web page addresses begin with http.

2. The browser will usually display a closed lock or a complete key symbol when you are at a secure page.

3. Clicking or double-clicking the closed lock symbol (or the security symbol your browser uses) will usually show the security information for that website.

4. Secure (https) web pages will encrypt (scramble) your credit card information before sending it across the public inteet. Chances are that a human being will never even view the information.

That Sounds Secure Enough. Why Do We Need Single-Use Credit Card Numbers?

It is a bonus to the consumer any time a vendor can provide an extra layer of security. Online credit card consumers can generate a separate credit card number for each online purchase, if they wish.

This easy-to-use extra security measure makes consumers more confident about buying with credit cards over the inteet. Anyone who did view your information in transit would see only your encrypted information. Encrypted information looks like gibberish to everyone except the credit card company's computer.

Additionally, it is no longer necessary to submit online the credit card number imprinted on your physical credit card.

Will They Run Out Of Credit Card Numbers?

No! Assume that Earth's population is about 6 billion people. Most credit card numbers have 16 digits in this familiar patte: nnnn-nnnn-nnnn-nnnn. Assume that each digit in a credit card number can assume any value between 0 and 9.

That works out to be almost 1.7 million credit card numbers available to every man, woman, and child on Earth!

Even if the first 4 digits are reserved for some reason, there are still about 170 credit card numbers available for every person on the planet. In short, the credit card companies will not run out of single-use credit card numbers.

How Are They Different From My Real Credit Card Number?

They are as valid as your plastic credit card to online merchants. Each single-use credit card number is linked to your primary credit card account. Purchases made with single-use numbers appear on your monthly statement. Refunds made to single-use numbers will appear as credits on your monthly statement.

OK, What's The Bad News?

There are certain circumstances under which you should not use a single-use credit card number to make an online purchase. This author leaed from experience not to use a single-use number at home to purchase movie tickets from a popular online ticket vendor.

The problem occurred because the machine at the movie theater that dispenses the online movie tickets requires the insertion of your real plastic credit card. If you did not use your real credit card number to buy the tickets, the machine will not release your tickets.

Any online purchase that requires you to present your physical credit card at the venue should only be made with the number on your physical credit card. Web sites that sell movie and other tickets will wa you of this.

Furthermore, your online ticket purchase will come with a confirmation number. Write or print that number and take it with you in case of problems.

Conclusion

Single-use credit card numbers are easy to generate, make online buying safer and more secure, and give consumers extra confidence when making online purchases. Call your credit card company or visit their website to lea if it offers this extra peace of mind on your credit card account.

Posted on/at 5:55 AM by Elijah Anderson

There is nothing like having your own business and enjoying the rewards that go along with it. In this article, entrepreneurs will lea some of the greatest benefits of owning a home-based inteet business. Many individuals run a successful business in addition to a day job, so dont submit your resignation until you find out if an inteet business is right for you. Whether you want to start your own eBay business, resell products from a dropshipper or operate a tukey website, there are 10 excellent benefits that you will want to know when it comes to operating a home-based business:

1. You have more time to spend with your family. Often, a full-time job away from the home doesnt allow for a lot of family time or spending all day with your children. If you dont want to miss a minute, a home-based business may be the way to go.

2. You are in complete control over your finances. No more working for a set per hour wage or salary because, with your own business, you are in control of how much you make.

3. You are in control of your schedule, the hours you work and which day(s) you work. There is no calling in sick or working late hours because you get to decide the schedule. Even if you want to work in your robe and slippers, you can because your home is your office.

4. By operating your own business, you will gain the knowledge and skills required to help boost your marketability in any future job opportunities should you ever decide to enter the job market again.

5. You will make all of the decisions involved with the day-to-day operations regarding your business, including full creative control.

6. You will lea how to gain free publicity for your business through the use of press releases, article marketing, search engine placement and link exchanges. This information is extremely valuable and will always be important if you plan to continue with your business.

7. You will save a lot of money on transportation, including gasoline costs related to going out to work on a daily basis, saving wear and tear on your automobile, mileage and frequent car repairs caused from everyday use.

8. You will not be tired from standing on your feet all day, sore from lifting heavy boxes and shipments or any other labor associated with many jobs. With an at-home business, the heaviest thing you will need to lift is that of the rare occasion when computer equipment must be moved or checked.

9. You will no longer have to worry about company cutbacks, layoffs, reduction in hours or other issues that can cause financial problems with conventional jobs. If you need to ea more, you simply put in more hours to ea extra money. If you need some time off, you can determine when and how much according to your wishes.

10. The 10th, and best, reason to operate your own home-based inteet business is quite simple. You get to be the boss.

Exercise Good Judgment To Find The Best Free Stuff On The Internet

Posted on/at 10:49 PM by Elijah Anderson

Since the launch of the web, there has not been a shortage of freebies available. These range from free email to free airplane tickets and everything in between. Generally, people either believe everything they see or nothing at all. In reality, the smart user falls somewhere in the middle. It is important to exercise good judgment in order to take advantage of all of the legitimate freebies that the inteet has to offer.

The first thing to keep in mind is that if it looks to good to be true, it probably is. Logic tells us that by signing up for a credit card, we probably arent going to get a free IPOD. The same goes for the emails that promise great items in retu for forwarding them along to friends. While these offers may be a waste of your time and energy, there are plenty of great offers out there.

Websites such as http://www.coolsavings.com/, and http://www.kalamafree.com/ offer a wide variety of consumer goods for free. These free samples include medicine, diapers, soap, mens magazines, gift cards, clothing, food, music, books, and much more.

There are a few different ways to find the best free items available. One easy method is to locate some of the large freebie directories, such as: http://www.1freebieseeking.com/. This will allow you to have a one-stop location that can offer thousands of freebie options. Another method is to seek out a specific free item that you are searching for. This can be done by using a search engine to find the free offer you desire. For example, if you wanted to find free Frisbees, you would search for free Frisbees. This will allow you to avoid the clutter of the large freebie sites and find what you are looking for more easily.

The volume of free goods that you can accumulate through the web is only limited by your creativity. Exercise good judgment and you will be on your way to enjoying many new things with little cost to you.

A Brief History Of The Popup Ad

Posted on/at 11:29 PM by Elijah Anderson

Pop-up ads are a form of online advertising on the World Wide Web intended to increase web traffic or capture email addresses. It works when certain web sites open a new web browser window to display advertisements. The pop-up window containing an advertisement is usually generated by JavaScript, but can be generated by other means as well.

A variation on the pop-up window is the pop-under advertisement. This opens a new browser window, behind the active window. Pop-unders interrupt the user less, but are not seen until the desired windows are closed, making it more difficult for the user to determine which Web site opened them.

For early advertising-supported web sites, banner ads were sufficient revenue generators, but in the wake of the dot com crash, prices paid for banner advertising clickthroughs decreased and many vendors began to investigate more effective advertising methods. Pop-up ads by their nature are difficult to ignore or overlook, and are claimed to be more effective than static banner ads. Pop-ups have a much higher click rate than web banner ads do (about every 14,000th popup ad is clicked on).

Poographic web sites are among the most common users of pop-up ads. Some particularly vicious types of pop-up ads (again, most often seen in connection with adult entertainment sites) appear to have either been programmed improperly or have been specifically designed to "hijack" a user's Inteet session. These forms of pop-ups sometimes spawn multiple windows, and as each window is closed by the user it activates code that spawns another window -- sometimes indefinitely. This is sometimes referred to by users as a "Java trap", "spam cascade" or "Pop-up Hell" among other names. Usually the only way to stop this is to close the browser.

Opera was the first major browser to incorporate popup-blocking tools; the Mozilla browser later improved on this by blocking only popups generated as the page loads. In the early 2000s, all major web browsers except Inteet Explorer (then the most popular browser and still as of 2006) allowed the user to block unwanted pop-ups almost completely.

In 2004, Microsoft released Windows XP SP2, which added pop-up blocking to Inteet Explorer. Many users, however, remain unaware of this ability, or else choose not to use it. Many others are not able to use it at all, as they do not use Windows XP SP2, but older versions of Windows. Some users install non-Microsoft ad-blocking software instead.
